ARTICLE VIII-MEETINGS Section 1. Regular meetings of the Association shall be held on the third Thursday of the following months: January, February, March, April, September and November are regular meeting months. May is the spring golf outing, December is the Holiday party and October is the Fall Seminar in which Association rotates annually with the Lincoln Claims Association.( NCA Omaha is responsible during even numbered years). January is the annual meeting in which all members are urged to vote in new officers. Section 2. The six regular meetings can be any combination of business, education or special interest. All members are eligible to attend such meetings and are urged to do so. Section 3. All members are eligible to cast one vote on any matter. Section 4. The President, with the approval of the Executive Committee, may adjust the meeting schedule. Section 5. A simple majority of members present at any business meeting will constitute a quorum except when motions are presented to change the Bylaws or for election of officers. ARTICLE X-PROCEDURES AT MEETINGS Section 1. Roberts Rules of Order will govern the meetings of the Association when not in conflict with the Bylaws. When such conflict occurs, the Bylaws shall prevail. ARTICLE IX-AMENDMENTS Section 1. Proposed amendments to the Bylaws must be submitted in writing to the President or Secretary. Any proposed amendment shall be given due consideration at the next meeting of the Executive Committee. If deemed advisable that the amendment be adopted, a copy of the proposed amendment shall be sent to all members not less than one week prior to the next regular scheduled meeting so that it may be voted upon at that meeting. It shall then be read by the Secretary at the next meeting of the Association and voted upon provided a quorum is present. A quorum shall be at least 25 members. Section 2. The method of voting shall be determined by the presiding officer. Section 3. A simple majority vote, by a quorum, shall govern. In the event of a favorable majority, it shall be immediately adopted. |
